The tradition of use of the natural stone in building in general is non-arguable. In the past, stone was used as the main building material. We can find momentous stone buildings originating in all ages from all over the world. Nowadays, the trends are steered towards the use of stone as a facing material. Besides the fact, that it offers infinite options in terms of color and structure, it perfectly resists the aging. Typical examples are facades, paving, staircases, sill plates or balustrades. We can further include elements of garden or city architecture, or unique pieces of art. Another specific branch contains headstones.

GRANDSTONE is famous for its work with sandstone imported from Czech Republic, concretely from a small town called Horice, located in the northern part of the country. This material is highly attractive in terms of its unique properties and color, which makes it very usable. It applies well as a massive facing and thanks to its workability is used in sculpturing, garden architecture and decoration of fireplaces.

Marbles, granites and limestone of our selection are delivered in various surfaces finishing such as polishing, grinding, sandblasting, flame polishing or even cutting. When designing, we of course take physical properties of materials in consideration as well. Aspects such as firmness, porosity, absorbability and related frost resistance are crucial factors when using these materials. Picking the color and finish comes into play after this first important step. Bearing, production and placement are just the finalization of our piece, so that even the most demanding customer is fully satisfied.

Headstone production is a typical stonemasonry activity and Grandstone logically participates in their production as well. Our technological abilities allow us to do so, mastering unusual projects.
